Jerusalem, Israel – The Archbishop of Canterbury, the Most Rev. and Right Honorable Justin Welby, this week commended the University of Cuttington for its active and constructive participation in the just ended ‘Peace-Building Across Conflict’ Dialogue held in Jerusalem, Israel on 2-10 June. The message was delivered by his Special adviser for Anglican Practices of Reconciliation, Canon Sarah Synder.

The team, headed by CU President, Dr Herman Browne, explored together with the teams from Msalato College (Tanzania), St. George College(Jerusalem), Virginia Theological Seminary (USA) cross-cultural models of peace mediation and often ignored elements of the process, of the framing of the undertaking, and ‘human’ as mediators. Dr Browne presented his reflections on what it means, theologically, to mainstream peace-building or transform conflict.
The participating institutions expressed their commitment to stay engaged with CU in its own efforts to develop the resources and continuing relevance of the J S Guannu Peace Institute in Suakoko.
It emerged at this meeting that CU is being considered the location to place the first Center for Anglican Communion Studies on the continent. Other members of the team were: Dr. C.Patrick Burrowes, Ven Siede Williams, Rev. Allen Gaye, Mr. Kofi Ankrah, Mrs. Julia Duncan Cassell, and the Rev. Dr Anne Cooper.
