Lawmaker Calls Govt To Bolster Educational Sector

Montserrado – Montserrado County District #12 Representative George Beyan Samah urged the government to bolster efforts to accelerate progress in the educational sector in order for the next generation of leaders to receive quality education.

Speaking at a Guest Speaker over the weekend at the 22 graduations ceremony of the Special Project High School in Stephen Tolbert Estate, with 160 successful students graduating, Rep Samah said education should be used to eradicate gender inequality, reduce poverty and to hence peaceful harmonize amongst citizen in Liberia.

Rep Samah stressed that education is a serious investment that parents should embrace, appealing to them to spend whatever it takes to help their children achieved.

“I urge the government to reinvigorate effort to accelerate progress in the education so that our tomorrow’s leaders received sound and quality education.”

“Education is vital in eliminating gender inequality, reducing poverty, preventing death and illness and fostering everlasting peace,” Rep Samah said.

Adding “I appeal to you to spend your nickels, dimes and whatever in helping our children to buy the most powerful weapon on the planet earth. With this weapon in their hands, we as parents are sure of their future,” Rep Samah said.

Rep Samah, however, informed the graduates that the graduating from high school is the first step educational pursue, emphasizing it is the passport to protection against economic hardship.

“For the graduating class, high school graduation is just the first step in your educational pursuits. You are heading for community college, universities or other forms of training passports to higher earning, Rep Samah said.

“The diploma and other documents you receive here today are your passports to higher earning and protection against economic tough times.” Rep Samah added.
