Monrovia – The Chief Executive Officer of Itter Pharmacy, Nabil El Etter has donated several medical supplies to the ‘Friends Social Organization’ to enable the group continues its effort in assisting Liberians to get medical treatment.
Making the donation Saturday, May, 10 in Monrovia, Nabil said his institution was moved and impressed by the humanitarian assistance the organization rendering to various communities around Monrovia.
Items donated to the organization include medical hand gloves, syringes, and injections amongst medical items.
He said that the organization is contributing positively to the medical need of Liberians who are challenged to meet medical treatments in clinics or hospitals, saying “That’s why we are doing the small donation to the organization and we hope other medical institutions will follow our good example to donate to the organization.”
“We encourage governmental institutions, NGOs to assist this organization that is trying it almost best to put smiles on the faces of Liberians,” he emphasized.
Receiving the medical items on behalf of the organization, Abel S. Crusoe, the secretary general said the organization appreciates the medical donation and promised that the items will be used for the intended purpose.
Crusoe said the donation came at the appropriate time where the organization was contemplating raising fund. He promised that drugs given will be distributed to needed communities for onward distribution amongst local residents.
He further disclosed that his organization also runs a scholarship program that currently has students benefiting but need fund to continue the scholarship scheme.
He also used the occasion to call on well-meaning Liberians, NGOs including Nabil Etter, the Itter Pharmacy CEO to assist the organization with some cash to help them meet up with financial payment for the scholarship students.
Meanwhile, the Friends Social Organization is expected to launch a massive cleaning up campaign in Monrovia and Paynesville and their environs.
The organization, according to its Secretary-general, was established to promote peace and unity, and create fraternal love amongst members; to engage and fight against ills that may be equivalent to destroying “our present and incoming generation;” to lobby for a scholarship for all needy and deserving members of the organization; undertake project to help in the rebuilding process of the nation and to conduct educational forums, counseling workshop, peace and reconciliatory tournament.
