MARGIBI COUNTY – Liberia’s Chief Imam, Ali Krayee, has expressed fear over the increasing wave of division permeating the country under the Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) led government.

Iman Krayee said Liberia’s past stable political system is far deteriorating, alleging that members of the opposition block and critics of the government are engaged into the practice of seeking for the downfall of the government.
“At the moment we have a situation where some people are so mush eager to see that the government fails and even when the government is doing good they are not happy. We see signs of this in our country and is troubling!” Iman Krayee noted.
The Chief Imam of Liberia speaking on Saturday, April 27, in Kakata, Margibi County at a ceremony making the induction of the new leadership of the Margibi County Muslim Council called on Liberian Muslims to pray especially during the upcoming Eid Mubarak for the stability of the country noting that whatever that goes wrong will affect everyone.
He blamed people in the ruling party for allegedly provoking the opposition and critics’ action owing to partisans of the CDC usual expression that ‘this is our time’.
Imam Krayee stated: “When you take over and start to give the impression that is your time and your time is not for all Liberians then other will wish and pray that your time is over and their time can also come.”
The Muslim Cleric admonished the CDC-led government to be sincere in building a united country by working with all Liberians irrespective of political affiliations.
He added that the success of the government is equally the success of all Liberians.
Imam Krayee said that with the prevailing political crisis in Liberia, it was now time for the political, religious and traditional leaders of the country to take on the path and responsibility in making Liberia stable for prosperity and development.
