Monrovia – The Harvest Intercontinental Church has deployed a team of medical doctors to Liberia to provide free surgical and medical services to underprivileged citizens at two of Liberia’s largest hospitals.

The church, based in Liberia, the United States, and other parts of the world, is a Christian organization made up of families from more than 50 nations. It is committed to helping individuals discover God’s love, explore their purpose, and positively impact their communities.
Partnership with Local Hospitals
The mission, led by Pastor Napoleon Blamon, Senior Coordinator of the outreach, is being carried out in partnership with John F. Kennedy Medical Center and Redemption Hospital.
According to Pastor Blamon, 107 patients were screened at JFK Medical Center by the Harvest Sozo Medical Mission team. Out of those screened, 23 patients received free surgical procedures.
“This is our sixth mission here in Liberia. It is a surgical and medical outreach. It’s free to serve those who cannot afford their own surgical and medical needs,” Pastor Blamon said.
Comprehensive Medical Support
Pastor Blamon explained that while the team primarily focuses on surgical interventions, they are also equipped to handle non-surgical medical cases.
“If we assess a patient and discover that surgery is not required but medication is needed, we will dispense at least two to three months of medication to help alleviate their condition,” he stated.
He further noted that the initiative was born out of a desire to give back to Liberia. Over the past six years, the team has consistently brought medical professionals and supplies, including hospital beds, personal protective equipment (PPE), and other essential medical items.
Expanded Services for Women’s Health
For the first time in several years, the mission includes a specialist focused on women’s health. Pastor Blamon acknowledged that previous missions lacked a gynecologist to address women’s health concerns.
“For the last six years, we didn’t have women doctors, particularly a gynecologist. When women came with their health issues, we couldn’t adequately handle them. But this time, we have a specialist trained specifically to address women’s health,” he said.
Last week, the team served patients at JFK Medical Center and will continue its outreach this week, beginning today, Monday, at Redemption Hospital in New Kru Town.
Commitment to Continued Service
Dr. Roberts Mayson, a gynecologist with over 30 years of experience, emphasized the team’s commitment despite time constraints.
“We have seen several problems affecting women. Not all cases can be handled within one or two weeks, but we are doing as much as possible during this short period. We will see as many patients as we can and aim to improve our mission every year,” Dr. Mayson said.
The Harvest Intercontinental Church’s ongoing medical outreach continues to provide critical healthcare services to vulnerable Liberians, reinforcing its long-standing commitment to humanitarian support in the country.
