Monrovia – Carried by his fiend someone of his peer Pa Taytay as he is commonly referred to by his neighbors was terrified and out of words as he saw his two-bedroom house burned down to ashes, one of two houses the man in the 50s acquired.

Fire fighters succeeded cutting off the blazing fire it gutted the two-bed room house located in the ELWA Paynesville community early Tuesday morning but could not rescue the building from being burned to the ground. It was too late when they appeared with a fire truck filled with water to fight the fire.
The building hosted eight residents—two elderly, three girls and two boys—all of whom are of school-going ages. When the fire started the kids were all in school but their mother was home. According to one of the uncles of the kids, the fire started in the room of the kids but it is yet unknown what was the cause of the fire.
Stephen Sackie one of the residents of the burnt building, told FPA how it happened: “This morning while on my way to town I received a call informing me about fire on my home when I got back it was too late to have rescued anything from that House. I don’t know right now how we are going to manage but I am sure God will provide.”
Eyewitnesses believe that the fire that started from the children room may have been caused by a mosquito coil, but residents of the building denied the claim, stating that they did not and never used mosquito coil.
The burned house was connected to the Liberia Electricity Corporation’s grid.
