Monrovia – The head of the Regional Watch For Human Rights, Tola Thompson Adebayor, has called on the President George Weah to fight corruption with all sincerity.

“Fight corruption with all sincerity without any form of bias by putting the nation Liberia above groups or individuals interest seeing corruption as epidemic or cancerous disease that have ravaged the national economy since its inception in 1847 thus rendering it moribund and background,” said Adebayor.
On the issue of appointments in government, Adebayor called on the CDC-led Government to consider people of integrity and good reputation in its government rather than appointing individuals with tainted reputation.
In a FrontPageAfrica interview, Adebayor stressed the need for the CDC Government to respect human rights, similar call that has been made by international human rights organization to the CDC Government.
Adebayor is calling on the CDC Government to be cognizant that no “nation around the globe survives without having respect for human rights, justice, adequate accountability and other existential values”.
He wants the government to rekindle the spirit of justice that has been lost in the country for the last 14 years, adding that nothing dignify any human being more than giving him or her the right to justice.
The head of the Regional Watch said in order for CDC Government to realize the pro-poor agenda it must recognize the work of human rights defenders, build a strong relationship with civil society organizations as partners in progress to collectively building a vibrant economy, justice and sustainable democracy.
He recommend that the government fully support the Independent National Commission on Human Rights to reawaken the full implementation of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) without being selective or with any string attached.
