The acquisition of the prized winger comes on the heels of a busy transfer window between both Liberian top-flight clubs.
FC Fassell’s move for Jerbo serves as a swift counter-response after Bea Mountain recently raided Fassell’s camp to secure the signature of their star goalkeeper Ahmed Savage.
Determined not to be left depleted, Fassell moved quickly to lure away one of Bea Mountain’s most influential attacking assets.
Jerbo joins the Fassell outfit bringing a wealth of experience from some of Liberia’s top-tier football clubs, having previously featured for former Liberian powerhouse Barrack Young Controllers (BYC) and ELWA United.
The dynamic winger brings pace, creativity, and proven goal-scoring threat to the squad as the club looks to build a formidable team capable of challenging for silver trophies in the new campaign.
A Decade in the Making
Jerbo’s transfer to FC Fassell fulfills a long-awaited desire for the winger, who was reportedly close to joining the club back in 2016.
However, a last-minute, improved offer from BYC convinced him to sign with the “Go Blue Boys” instead.
His decision to join BYC proved highly rewarding, as Jerbo enjoyed a trophy-laden spell with the now-defunct club. During his tenure, he helped BYC capture two Liberian First Division League titles alongside a Liberian FA Cup trophy after joining from ELWA United and eventually moving to Bea Mountain.
Following his impressive run at Bea Mountain, Jerbo now begins a fresh chapter with FC Fassell, finally arriving at the destination he nearly called home a decade ago.
“FC Fassell is delighted to announce the signing of Ketu P. Jerbo, a talented winger, as our newest addition ahead of the new season,” the club stated in an official announcement. “Welcome to the Fassell family, Ketu! We wish you every success in this new chapter.”
The Club management believes Jerbo’s extensive top-flight experience and tactical versatility will add crucial depth to the squad, effectively balancing out the recent departure of their starting goalkeeper to Bea Mountain.
His pace and trickery on the flanks are expected to give Fassell’s attack an added edge.
With a proven track record of winning major domestic honors and a deep familiarity with Liberian top-flight football, Jerbo is expected to play a pivotal leadership role both on and off the pitch.
Nearly ten years after first being linked with the club, the winger will finally don the green and yellow colors of FC Fassell as preparations intensify for the upcoming season.
