Monrovia-A criminal network has reportedly hit the management of Liberia’s Center for National Documents and Records Agency, the National Achieves, CNDRA, following a major fraud discovery at its marriage section.
This criminal fraud networks, CNDRA said, is currently affecting its operations relating to the printing of marriage certificates.
Addressing a major press conference at the entity’s offices in Sinkor George N. Williams, Information Officer at CNDRA disclosed that the fraud network is linked to employees within the marriage section of the National Achieves and some other whose names were withheld.
“Information in the possession of management has linked this fraud network to employees within the marriage section of CNDRA and other individuals who have victimized many people that have fallen prey to their criminal network”, Mr. Williams told reporters.
Five persons were said to be linked to the fraud allegation but Williams refused to disclose the names on grounds that investigation is currently ongoing but however promised to expose them after an in-house findings is concluded.
As a result of the criminal scheme, all staffs of the marriage section and others linked to the conspiracy have been subjected to investigation by an investigative committee set up by the CNDRA Management in keeping with its policies and the CSA Standing Orders, he further said.
“CNDRA also regrets the victimization of members of the church who names are being withheld that got affected by this criminal network and are now aiding management in her investigation.”
In the same vein, CNDRA has with immediate effect discontinue what is termed as, Third-Party transaction, in obtaining marriage certificates, alerting pastors and Christians, Imam and Muslims, traditional leaders as well as court performing marriage ceremonies of its latest decision.
Mr. Williams however expressed the National Achieves regrets over the fact that services that can be access without hindrance at the entity’s customer service window could be intercepted by third party criminals both within and out which has highly victimized many.
