Voinjama, Lofa County – A twin mother, Kebbeh Ballah, who came to the market to look for food for her twin girls, put away everything she was doing and joined the Press Union of Liberia parade on World Press Freedom Day in Lofa County.
Kebbeh, who marched ahead of the group, carried both her nine-month-old babies on her back and hips, joined the PUL parade, around the market area when journalists marched through the principal streets of Voinjama commencing from the Total Gas Station, Central Voinjama.
“I am marching because I hear the VP will be coming here, and I want him to help me buy rice for my children, because my husband is working on someone farm and is not here, and the children are hungry,” Says Kebbeh
The sweaty and tired twin mother was unable to see VP Boakai when he arrived in the hall, because of the heavy pushing by citizens who gathered to see the VP. But some journalists including the PUL collected some money for her to buy food for the babies.
