Monrovia- Several residents of Sasstown residing in Monrovia and part adjacent have honoured House Speaker Fonati Koffa for his continued services to the county and Liberia at large.
The group of ‘Sasstonians’ among other things cited Speaker Koffa’s humanitarian gesture including the provision of a scholarship program, construction of schools, and hand pumps for safe drinking water among others as some major reasons for celebrating him.
They also cited his latest achievement as speaker of the 55th of Liberia which they believe will serve as a catalyst for more development in the county and Liberia at large.
They also used the occasion to encourage the Liberian leader to continue his work and also remind President Joseph Boakai about his promise to the southeasterners during his campaign.
The program was held in the Borough of New Kru town over the weekend. Speaker Koffa was gowned and awarded a certification of appreciation.
In remarks, he assured the gathering about his plan to work with Pres. Boakai in ensuring that the Southeast is factor in in fracture and other development of the country.
“We have come to assure you that we will work with you, we will listen to you, we will follow your instructions and we will work with the president and this government to make sure we deliver those things that you are expecting of us,” Speaker Koffa said.
Speaker Koffa hails from Grand Kru of former President Goerge Weah. Even though he lost the election, the country feels blessed to have produced the 55th speaker of the country.
