Liberia: Gbarpolu County Is Fully Ready To Fight Covid-19

Garpolu – Sunday, March 30, 2020, a son of Gbarpolu County, Paul Koulboi Kennedy donated several medical equipment and Personnel Protective Equipment value more than $8,000 United States Dollars to six major health centers in the County including: Bopolu, Gbarma, and Bokoma. Other health centers are: Belleh, Kongbai, and Gouwoulala.    

Presenting the donation to the county authority, the President & Founder of the Kennedy Hope Foundation, Paul Koulboi Kennedy, said, the Kennedy Hope Foundation decided to work with various authorities in the county, specifically the county health team to provide logistics and material support in the midst of COVID-19.

He stated that donation is meant to provide the county preparedness and immediate response to COVID-19 in addition to the support the Ministry of Health will give to support health centers in the county.

He also told the county authority that the Kennedy Hope Foundation is making plans to work with the Ministry of Health to provide training for Gbarpolu County Health workers for the preparedness of COVID-19 response.

Making remarks on behalf of the Superintendent of Gbarpolu County, the Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent, Forkpa D. Karmon, thanked the Kennedy Hope Foundation for the donation and stated that the donation is the way forward for helping Gbarpolu County in this time of a deadly virus outbreak.

Materials and drugs donated are: Surgical Gowns, N95 Nose Masks, Intubation Tubes, HAZMAT Suits and Paracetamol, Ibuprofen, among others PPEs.

For his part, the County Health Officer of Gbarpolu County, Dr. Musa Zuanah, acknowledged Paul Kennedy’s donation and added that this is his second time seeing Paul donating to health centers in the county.
