Gbarnga, Bong County – Citizens of Bong County have rebuffed media reports alleging that Representative Prince Moye of Bong County District #2 of raping a 16-year-old.

It was reported last week in the media that Representative Moye allegedly raped the teenager in the Rock Hill Community on the Roberts Field Highway.
In separate interviews with FrontPageAfrica, the citizens said such report was baseless and yet another calculated political ploy by detractors of the District #2 lawmaker.
Tracing Rep. Moye’s upbringing as a humble child, David Karchue, Commissioner of the lawmaker’s own electoral District #2, laughed off at the report:
“The first day I heard the report, I laughed. Prince had been living in this district since birth, not a day we heard about him being involved in anything of such, least to mention him plenty girlfriends,” Commissioner Karchue said.
“The woman he had from childhood is the same woman he married to and they are living happily today. To say Rep. Moye that we know is involved in raping a minor, I take serious exception to it.”
Deborah Clarke, another resident of electoral district two, agreed. “That report is a blatant lie against my lawmaker. I feel strongly that the report in the Peoples newspaper is a blackmail scam and, we as citizens of the district are calling on him to pursue this matter to the logical end.”
Weah Sonnah, a resident of electoral district three, feels the report has a political undertone designed by would-be rivals of Rep. Moye.
Sonnah: “As we move toward the upcoming elections in our nation history, we will see and more black mailers. But no amount of black mailing will stop our support for this promising young leader of our time.”
“This is sad, we know Hon. Moye, he is a man with high moral standing, we believe in him and we will stand with him! We know who Alfred Togbah,” Obediah Weahweah, a native of Zota district, told FrontPage Africa.
“People need to be careful with spoiling public officials’ characters in our country. Better we welcome development than people who contradict information Hon. Moye,” said Patrick Ciapha, another resident.
Representative Prince Moye had since April 22, 2016 officially communicated with Montserrado County Attorney Cllr. J. Daku Mulbah, Gender Minister Julia Ducan-Cassell, the President of the Female Lawyers Association and the Acting Police Director at the time on what he terms as a ‘complete blackmail’ being designed by his detractors whom he said was only intended to destroy his hard-earned reputation.
Representative Moye has vowed to pursue the matter with the full involvement of his lawyers, and has seriously warned that all of those behind the allegation against him will pay for their action.
