Monrovia – Vice President Jewel Howard-Taylor Friday called on the people of Bong County to vote for the Coalition for Democratic Change candidate Josiah Marvin Cole as senator of the county.

The Vice President said a vote for Cole, who’s also the representative of electoral district three, on Tuesday, July 31, 2018, is a vote for progressiveness and people-oriented policies.
“The right to vote is not only a civic responsibility but the opportunity to determine the course of our lives as a people,” she said.
The vice president also said the seat, which she vacated six months ago as a senator, belongs to the CDC and it would be a blow if the opposition to wins it. “This seat belongs to the CDC. There is no way we can give this seat to the opposition,” she added.
Vice President Taylor enjoined the people of the district to ensure Cole, who he described as the best, was elected on July 31.
Don’t waste your vote
The vice president also asked the electorate in Panta District not to waste their votes in Tuesday’s senatorial election on the other four candidates in the race, but rather on the CDC candidate, given his track record since his election as representative of District Three.
VP Taylor said she was in Panta District not to only campaign for Cole but also create awareness as well sensitize the people on the dividends of democracy so far made by the George Weah-led government since its inception nearly seven months ago.
The party’s candidate, Cole, during his speech, called on the people of the district to take him by his words, as they remain his bond. He said he would work hard to put Bong County on the path of greatness if elected next week.
“I have the vice president and president as my mother and father so you think what I want for you people can’t happen,” he said. “If you elect me as your next senator, I will not disappoint you.”
He said Education and job creation would constitute the major trust of his leadership, as he would work to provide tuition aid for citizens and empower the young people through job creation.
Speaking also, former District Four lawmaker, Lester Paye, urged the candidate to fly the party’s flag in the election with dignity but insisted that only God makes a leader, and as such, it would not challenge whoever wins the July 31 election.
Paye said Bong County needed someone with passion, foresight, and strength to take her to the next level of development, and that he represents that perfectly.
