MONROVIA – A Liberian civil society group, Liberia Workers Rights Defenders (LIWORD), has described as alarming and counterproductive creeping attempts to subvert and undermine one of Liberia’s oldest and most viable partners in progress, the Liberia Cement Corporation (CEMENCO) and thereby jeopardizing the jobs of thousands of Liberian workers and the Liberian economy.

Monrovia – The all-powerful Women in Peace Building Network (WIPNET) through its parent organization, the West African Network in Peace Building (WANEP) signed a memorandum of understanding over the weekend with Alfalit Liberia to intensify the fight against illiteracy common to women. 

Monrovia – A project to enhance animal feed production through corn production in Liberia has been signed in Monrovia. The signing ceremony took place on Thursday, September 19, 2019.

MONROVIA – Naymote Partners for Democratic Development on Friday, September 13, 2019 in Gompa, Nimba County officially launched a campaign dubbed: “The Legislature is Not for Men Alone” and  set up the National Young Women Political Council of Liberia. The campaign is intended to raise awareness on the significance of women participation in democratic processes, mentor and empower young women interested in politics to contest Liberia’s 2023 elections and future elections thereby increasing the number of women elected in the Liberian Legislature. Of the 105 seats in the Liberian legislature, women hold a total of 10 seats.

Monrovia – The Ministry of Education in collaboration with the National Commission on Higher Education wants to emphatically make it crystal clear that it has not issued any accreditation or license to the Young Men Christian Association (YMCA) to operate as a Polytechnic College. Meanwhile, the Ministry is aware of YMCA being operated as an after school Program for young adults and potential leaders especially in the periodic cycle of computer training program which they have been doing so well.
