Monrovia – GVL maintains that reports published by the Independent Probe newspaper in its March 7, 2021 edition titled: “Golden Veroleum In Hot water Over ‘Land-grab & Rainforest Bulldozed, Int’l panel Finding Reveals” does not provide a complete and accurate account of the findings of a recent High Carbon Stock Approach (HCSA) investigation.    

Monrovia — Maj Gen. Prince C. Johnson, III, Chief of Staff (COS) of the Armed Forces of Liberia (AFL), on Friday, 19 March 21, decorated members of LIBBATT-6 with Campaign Medals  at Camp Sandee Ware. The Campaign Medals are given to soldiers who take part in military mission.

MONROVIA — On Thursday, March 18, 2021, the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection and Partners held the 65th Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) Side Event at the Ministry of Gender. CSW evaluates progress on gender equality, identifies challenges, sets global standards, and formulate concrete policies to promote gender equality and the advancement of women worldwide. The occasion is usually held in March of every year at the UN General Headquarters in New York, USA but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, CSW has not been celebrated as traditionally done.

Monrovia — The Liberia Maritime Authority clarifies that a recent media report attributing the removal of Liberia from the U.S Government’s Advisory List of countries that do not maintain effective anti-terrorism measures to the Global Tracking and Maritime Solutions Holdings (GTMS Holdings) is false and misleading.

MONROVIA – The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) is providing take-home rations to 5,000 pre-primary and primary school children and their household members. The rations com- prising of rice, fortified vegetable oil, and pulses are intended to mitigate the impact of the COVID- 19 pandemic on the students and their families. This assistance was made possible thanks to a contribution of 200,000 CAD (US$ 150,000) by the Government of Canada’s Fund for Local Initiative Program (CFLI) to WFP in Liberia.
