MONROVIA — It’s bright day and turning point for children that were born with cleft lip in the southeastern part of the country when Oral Health Advocacy Initiative (OHAI) conducted successful surgery on children from Maryland, Grand Kru, River Gee and Grand Gedeh Counties. The successful surgeries on the children their parents especially the mother were left with no alternative but the town hall center stages with traditional dances and songs.

MONROVIA — On Thursday, March 18, 2021, the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection and Partners held the 65th Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) Side Event at the Ministry of Gender. CSW evaluates progress on gender equality, identifies challenges, sets global standards, and formulate concrete policies to promote gender equality and the advancement of women worldwide. The occasion is usually held in March of every year at the UN General Headquarters in New York, USA but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, CSW has not been celebrated as traditionally done.

MONROVIA – The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) is providing take-home rations to 5,000 pre-primary and primary school children and their household members. The rations com- prising of rice, fortified vegetable oil, and pulses are intended to mitigate the impact of the COVID- 19 pandemic on the students and their families. This assistance was made possible thanks to a contribution of 200,000 CAD (US$ 150,000) by the Government of Canada’s Fund for Local Initiative Program (CFLI) to WFP in Liberia.
