MONROVIA – Prof. Francis Wreh, Director General of the Liberia Institute of Statistic and Geo-Information Services (LISGIS) has told the Senate that his earlier comments about transferring US$1 million to UNFPA for the conduct of population census was a “slip of tongue.”

MONROVIA – Senator Edwin Melvin Snowe of Bomi County has held a meeting with Ghanaian President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and Speaker Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin to discuss issues concerning regional security.

MONROVIA – Senate Pro-Tempore Albert Chie has told a group of clergymen that Senator Edwin Melvin of Snowe Bomi County has requested the Senate not to allow the second reading of his proposed bill seeking religious holidays. As per the Senate’s rules, the second reading of legislation will prepare it to be sent to the relevant committee for action.

MONROVIA – The Liberia Institute of Statistics and Geo-Information Services (LISGIS) has told the Liberian Senate that it has passed on the US$1 million received from the government for the conduct of the nationwide census to the UNFPA on the instruction of the government. But sources within the UNFPA say only US$700,000.00 was received.

MONROVIA – French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian is in Liberia to strengthen bilateral relationship between Liberia and France. While in Liberia, he met with his Liberia counterpart Dee-Maxwell Kemayah and signed two agreements amounting to Eight Million Euros and US$10 million.

MONROVIA – Bomi County Senator Edwin Melvin Snowe says he has been threatening text messages due to his legislative advocacy for three religious holidays two of which would benefit people of the Islamic faith.

MONROVIA – Senator Edwin Snowe says he along with two senior officials of ruling Coalition for Democratic Change Government including Finance minister Smauel Tweah and Mr. Nathaniel McGill Minister of State for Presidential Affairs had to risk their lives to land in a private plane on the runway of the Roberts International Airport (RIA) without lighs.

MONROVIA – Senate Pro-Tempore Albert Chie says the Senate’s leadership is holding discussion on the way forward in addressing concerns by citizens and foreign partners over recent decision to elect Senator Prince Johnson to the Senate leadership.
