MONROVIA – The ruling in the case involving the Security Expert Guard Service of Liberia (SEGAL ) and its aggrieved employees has come under serious criticism with residents of  Nimba County giving mixed reactions. SEGAL is a security guard company in charge of security for Arcelor Mittal Liberia, especially in Nimba County.

MONROVIA – The opposition Movement for Economic Empowerment (MOVEE) has elected its former political leader Dee Maxwell Kemayah to steer the affairs of the party for the upcoming 2023 general and presidential elections. Kemayah who is the current Minister of Foreign Affairs was removed from his position as the political leader by the party’s executive committee on grounds that he was serving at the United Nations as Ambassador, something the party at the time believed prevented him from executing the duties of the office of the political leader.

BOPOLU, Gbarpolu County – Former Finance Minister, Amara Konneh, has told residents of Gbarpolu County that he would repair the road from the county’s capital to Bomi County. The deplorable Gbarpolu road condition has slowed down economic activities in the county with residents in that part of the country alarming the national government to come to their aid. Marketers in the county who mostly feel the pinch of the deplorable road were seen in a jubilant mood when Konneh announced to the marketers that he will fix the road from Bopolu City to Bomi County to ease the tension.

BOPOLU, Gbarpolu County – Former Finance Minister Amara Konneh has embarked on seeking the blessings of the traditional chiefs and elders of Gbarpolu County as he informs residents in the county of his quest to contest the pending 2023 elections as Senator in the County.Recently return to Liberia after spending six years working at the World Bank, Mr. Konneh told his supporters that he will contest either in Gbarpolu or Montserrado County.

MONROVIA – Liberia is currently monitoring and treating a male who was recently diagnosed with the monkeypox virus in Maryland County. Monkeypox is a viral zoonotic infection, meaning that it can spread from animals to humans. It can also spread from person to person. Health authorities in Liberia at a news conference Monday July 25, 2022 confirmed the first case of the virus.
