MONROVIA – Gbawou Kowou, former chairman of the defunct National Union for Democratic Progress (NUDP), has come back to politics after being away for many years serving in the professional sector. Gbawou said for too long he has sat in the backyard in Liberian politics while those he described as political novices run the show.
Monrovia – Residents of the Airfield Sharks Community have pleaded with the political leader of the Collaborating Political Parties (CPP) Alexander Cummings to intervene and restore electricity to their community. The residents also want a generator and a few solar lights to brighten their community during night hours to prevent criminals in the area.
MONROVIA – Residents of the Airfield Sharks Community on Monday set up roadblocks preventing an LEC pickup from leaving the community. The action of the community members was due to the LEC’s failure to switch on the transformer in the community for over seven months.

MONROVIA – Liberia has launched its first of its kind in Africa Cultural competition that will showcase Liberian culture from the 15 counties. The show will attract participants from the 15 counties in a cultural village for five weeks to showcase the culture of the various counties on a live television network on SATCOM.
MONROVIA – Just two days after members of the opposition bloc staged a rally against the government, President George Weah received a rousing welcome from a multitude of supporters despite being heavily criticized for being out of the country for more than a month. Thousands of Liberians on Monday turnout at the Roberts International Airport (RIA) to welcome and escort President Weah to the Coalition for Democratic Change headquarters.
MONROVIA – Residents of Nimba and Grand Gedeh Counties have called for a peaceful and united region. The people of both counties say they feel stigmatized and stereotyped, with many describing them as troublemakers in Liberia. Both counties have agreed to move forward and trash out existing bitterness between them.
Monrovia –The Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of Liberia, Maj/Gen. Prince C. Johnson III Tuesday warned that the Army will be put on alert for possible misconduct during the 2023 legislative and presidential elections, warning that persons arrested will face the full brunt of the law. He said the Army will not hesitate to help the Liberia National Police whenever there’s any tension from a group of people who will take the law into their hands.
Monrovia – The National Elections Commission (NEC) has with immediate effect postponed the Voter’s Registration process that was previously set for December 15, 2022, a statement from the NEC has revealed. The postponement comes barely weeks after the NEC sent a request for “No Objection” to Liberia’s Public Procurement and Concession Commission (PPCC), to award a contract to Laxton Groups for the use of a Biometric Voter-Identification system to prevent electoral fraud and chaos during the 2023 legislative and presidential elections.
MONROVIA – AMI Groups in Liberia has donated to the Ministry of Education and the National Commission on Higher Education (NCHE) the sum of US$210, 000 to help Liberia students through scholarship. AMI has not suggested to the Ministry and NCHE on how to use the money, but hoped that the fund benefits students directly in their academic sojourn.
