Armed Robbers Injure Couple in Central Monrovia

Monrovia – A man and his fiancée were injured by a group of arm robbers at their residence on the Camp Johnson Road in central Monrovia.

The incident, which occurred Thursday, January 31, saw William Hoff and Grace Brownell attacked by men armed with knives and scissors. 

Police investigation reveals that victim Hoff, on the night of the incident, came from watching a football game on the Perry Street, phoned his girlfriend Grace to come and spend the night with him.

The investigation continued that when the couple arrived home, they were attacked by unknown men armed with knives and scissors and other deadly weapons, who then made way with some cash and other valuables. 

Grace also corroborated the account, according to the Police, adding that the robbers took away her smart phone.. 

 Police further revealed that during the investigation by visiting the crime scene it was discovered that robbery, armed robbery and aggravated assault did occur and two persons(suspects) Mohammed Kromah alias pocket value and Otis Brooks alias Robert Sirleaf were arrested.

According to the police the two suspects denied the crimes of armed robbery, aggravated assault but allegedly admitted to robbery.

The two suspects Kromah and Brooks have been formally charged with criminal conspiracy, aggravated assault, and armed robbery and forwarded to the Monrovia City Court on Tuesday, January 5, 2019.

The two defendants were later detained at the Monrovia Central Prison where they will remain pending an indictment and prosecution for armed robbery, which is a non-bailable criminal offence under the law.
