ANC’s Sensee Kiadii Outlines Strategic Vision Behind Alexander Cummings’ Surprise Visit to Football House

MONROVIA – The Director of Communication for the opposition Alternative National Congress (ANC), Sensee Kiadii, has described the recent visit of the party’s political leader, Alexander Cummings, to the Liberia Football Association (LFA) headquarters as a clear manifestation of his deep passion for sports and youth development in the country.

Mr. Kiadii explained that Mr. Cummings is a development-oriented leader who strongly believes in the transformative power of sports.

He noted that following the conclusion of the LFA’s leadership elections, the ANC political leader paid a courtesy visit to the local football governing body’s headquarters on Thursday, May 28, 2026, to congratulate its president, Mustapha Raji.

“The main reason Mr. Cummings visited the LFA president was to encourage him and members of his Executive Committee to roll out more football development programs during his third term,” Kiadii told FrontPage Africa sports desk.

“He wants them to build upon the existing progress achieved during Mr. Raji’s first and second terms, which he believes will inspire young people who have a passion for the sport to take their training seriously as they prepare for future challenges.”

The ANC spokesman further stated that Mr. Cummings urged the LFA leadership to strategically leverage football as a tool to unify the post-war nation. He noted that sports remain one of the few catalysts capable of bringing Liberians together across deep societal divides.

“Whenever our national football team, the Lone Star, takes the pitch against another country, all Liberians completely put aside their political, religious, and ethnic differences to cheer the team to victory,” Kiadii added. “The LFA must therefore continue to improve the game, because it naturally bridges gaps between people from completely different backgrounds in life.”

Decentralizing Football Infrastructure

During the meeting, Mr. Cummings reportedly extended his appreciation to the LFA leadership for its aggressive infrastructure drive, specifically highlighting the construction of modern soccer pitches across several of Liberia’s 15 counties.

He expressed hope that the Raji-led administration would successfully replicate and complete the stadium projects in the remaining counties before the expiration of his third term.

Concluding, Mr. Kiadii stated that the ANC political leader challenged both newly elected and returning members of the LFA Executive Committee to foster a spirit of collaboration. He urged them to set aside individual differences and maintain an undivided focus on the administrative growth and development of Liberian football.
