MONROVIA – On Wednesday, November 9, 2022, a delegation of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) visited the Lango Lippaye High School in Kakata Margibi County to participate in a School-based Vaccination Campaign and see students being vaccinated.
The event highlights the U.S Government COVID-19 assistance to Liberia and the importance of vaccinating more students against COVID-19.

The delegation, led by Beth Tritter, Executive Director of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) COVID-19 Response Team and USAID/Liberia Mission Director Jim Wright toured the two vaccination booths at the school campus where students were being vaccinated with their COVID-19.
The delegation met and spoke with the Margibi County Health Team, the school Administrators and staff, the Margibi County, County and District Education officers. The school-based vaccination campaign and meeting with County officials is also an opportunity to engage and encourage the Ministry of Education to reinforce the importance of schools as a platform for COVID-19 VACCINATION delivery. Beth congratulated Liberia for the accomplishment of getting 70 percent of the total population vaccinated and emphasized that school-based vaccination programs are needed to increase vaccination uptake among children.
They also toured the two vaccination points/booths where they spoke with health workers and saw students getting vaccinated. Beth Tritter, Executive Director of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) COVID-19 Response Team, congratulated the Margibi country health team for their work in promoting and providing school base vaccination and encouraging more students to take the COVID-19 Vaccine.
