During a political rally over the weekend in the rural Bassa town of Sue, an area bordering two of Liberia’s 15 counties Bong and Nimba, Brumskine said these developments are already being demonstrated by people who are backing his Presidential bid.
He noted that it was with the support from his kinsmen that gives him bravery to contest the Liberian Presidency.
Brumskine believes that those he once introduced to the people of Grand Bassa as potential county and districts leaders have initiated road, education and healthcare developments which are some of his foremost priorities for rural dwellers.
The Liberty Party Political leader reemphasized a political declaration made in the 2011 elections that a massive Bassa support would produce a better President for Liberia.
“Where so ever I go, I like to say that I am a pure Bassa man and if Bassa people were not backing me, I am no one. When they say Brumskine, it is not I alone going but the people of Grand Bassa County,” Cllr. Brumskine said.
He added that his aim is to get Bassa people more involved in making decisions that would benefit them, specifically citing “The entire Grand Bassa, I have not come to beg you to vote for me but to inform them that I am seeking the Liberian Presidency.”
Brumskine said the leadership of Senators Jonathan Kaipay and Nyonblee Kangar Lawrence as well as Rep. Jeff Byron Brown had proven the good intentions of the party through the construction of various health clinics, road construction and the building of various bridges in the county.
“It was said by some one that if you time comes any other thing you see would be correct. Cllr. Brumskine is a big person they say and why people are behind him?
You have seen the work of Kaipay, Nyonblee Kangar Lawrence and Byron Brown, when you have a President, what you expect him to do” Brumskine quizzed his kinsmen.
According to him, it is incumbent on the people of Grand Bassa to fulfill a God promised presidency for the people of Bassa which he said can be proven through their votes.
Liberian Presidential hopeful Cllr. Brumskine also promoted his vision of an “open, liberal, generous Liberia” during his visit in the rural area of Nyuwein Administrative District.
Brumskine has at the same time promised the villager’s rice milling machine to help ease difficulties that they face in pounding the locally made Liberian staple food.
During the rally, Grand Bassa County Senator Jonathan Kaipay named Cllr. Brumskine as the only person who is capable of alleviating the hardship of the people of Bassa County.
Kaipay said it is on this backdrop that lawmakers introduced by Cllr. Brumskine to the people of Bassa have performed excellently as proof of good leadership.
“Cllr. Brumskine, the people of Bassa has come to say thank you very much for the farm you made for them and this is the time to harvest.”
Kaipay lauded Brumskine for helping in rural development in Grand Bassa County despite his status as a private Liberian citizen.
