He is being accused of intentionally beating the child on the night of Monday, June 10, that’s according to Court Document obtained by FrontPage Africa.
The alleged action, according to the court, is in violation of the new Penal Code of Liberia.
The Chairman and Zonal Head of Bonjar Community in ELWA, Kaifa Holmes and Reginald Taylor, have already secured an insurance bond for the accused to be released so he can seek medical treatment.
Report about the accused beating his daughter was posted to social media, particularly Facebook, by Monsterrado County District-6 Representative Samuel Enders on Tuesday, June 11.
Representative Enders posted that the child is being treated at his African Dream Clinic while the father has been placed under police custody.
But in an interview with FrontPage Africa, the mother of the child, Alice Naywor denied that her child was never beaten by the father as it was reported to the Police by the lawmaker.
“That was on Monday night he went somewhere and came home late. So he said that we should go home, but I said No, it already late….that’s how when I went in the bathroom, he took the girl and started going. While on their way, he slipped on top of the bridge then he threw the girl away,” Alice said.
She said the child was then taken at African Dream Clinic the following morning where Representative Samuel Enders took delivery of the child and posted to Facebook that the child was beaten by her father.
“I told him that the girl and her father fell down but he said the child was beaten. We never received treatment at the Clinic. He only sent for the boy and called Police,” according to Alice Naywor.
Meanwhile, FrontPage Africa understands that the child has not undergone any medical treatment since the incidence.
The child and her mother are currently at the home of the Zonal Head, Reginald Taylor in the ELWA.
