Monrovia – Robert Taylor came off the bench to fire Monrovia Club Breweries into the third round of the FA Cup after a dominance performance against Jubilee at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium.

The forward scored after 73rd minute to give Breweries a deserved victory with a close range tip effort.

The Beer Boys were never seriously stretched by Jubilee, who looked much of a dull encounter but got some chances in the first half.
Jubilee’s Captain Joseph Mento’s header forced a save from goalkeeper Sampson Giddings in the 9th minute.
The Beer Boys took control of proceedings right from that moment and George Weah won a free-kick right over the 18 yard but Adama Swaray’s effort was blocked.
As Breweries mounted pressure, Jubilee’s Tello Gibson nearly scored an own goal when his header beat goalkeeper Wonderful in the 19th minute from Weah’s cross down the channel.
Sylvanus Morris had a glorious chance after creating space for himself but could only blast his effort over the crossbar from over the edge of the 18-yard box on the half hour mark.
Soon after the interval, Breweries’ Coach Francis Sarploh brought on Taylor but it was Jubilee’s Mulbah Flomo who forced a fingertip intervention from goalkeeper Giddings in the 46th minute.
In the 65th minute, Weah put Morris through on goal but when the forward seemed to strike, Gibson amended with a beautiful intervention to keep the ball from safety. As Jubilee settled well to their task without seriously troubling Breweries, it was the Beer Boys, who swept forward in typically stylish fashion to break the deadlock on 73rd minute from Taylor’s cool finish after Weah unselfishly put him through to grab the match winner and sent Breweries to the next round.
