Monrovia — A Nigerian Prelate, regarded as Africa’s most generous Philanthropist, Reverend Mother Esther Abimbola Ajayi, is back in Liberia on Monday January 14, 2019, for a 4-day working visit with Liberia’s Vice President Chief Dr. Jewel Howard-Taylor.
Mother Ajayi, who was in the country last November, according to a statement from the Office of the Vice President, undertook a commitment to donate cash and buses to three institutions currently catering to people with disabilities in Monrovia and parts adjacent.
The Antoinette Tubman Cheshire Home in Sinkor, the Mission of Hope in Jacob Town in Paynesville, and the Group of ‘77 on Newport Street, were promised a sum of seventy-five thousand United States dollars, with each carrying twenty-five thousand United States dollars.
The renowned Humanitarian also committed to contributing the three buses to the institutions as part of her Foundation’s own way of identifying with the needy.
While in the country, Mother Ajayi plans to make good on her commitments to the institutions at an official program to be organized by the Vice President.
She is also expected to be a special guest at programs marking the official opening of first sitting of second session of the 54th Legislature, during which she will provide prayers for the leadership and peoples of the nation.
The release said, the visitation with the three institutions in November 2018 was initiated by Chief Dr. Jewel Howard-Taylor, who has oversight over the Group of 77 and people living with disabilities. Mother Ajayi, Founder & CEO of Esther Ajayi Foundation, recalled her first interaction with VP Howard-Taylor which took place in Ghana at the launch of her Foundation, serenading the Liberian Vice President as a woman of humility.
