Monrovia – President George Manneh Weah has received the Letters of Credence of H. E. Andras Szabo and H.E. Charles Bernardt Josob, Ambassadors Extraordinary & Plenipotentiary of the Republics of Hungary and Namibia respectively accredited to Liberia.
The Liberian leader received the Letters of Credence of both Ambassadors Andras Szabo and Charles Bernardt Josob on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at his Foreign Ministry Office in Monrovia.
Earlier, President Weah expressed the hope that Liberia and Hungary will work together in strengthening the existing relationship in the interest of the citizens of both countries.
He said although Liberia is a small country but a very big one as well especially with the kind of diplomatic ties established across the world.
Speaking, Ambassador Andras Szabo expressed appreciation for the warm hospitality accorded him since his arrival and promised to ably represent the interest of the people of Hungary in Liberia.
Ambassador Szabo disclosed that the Hungarian government is interested in exploring several opportunities in areas of water management, information technology, among others.
In a related development, President Weah has stressed the need to work collectively to strengthen bilateral relations subsisting between Liberia and Namibia and emphasized the ardent need to promote African solidarity.
He said it was imperative for both Liberia and Namibia to work together in forging strong bilateral and diplomatic ties in the interest of their peoples and countries.
President Weah then called on the people and government of Namibia not to be skeptical in investing in Liberia as the security situation in Liberia is now stable.
For his part, the Namibian Ambassador commended President Weah for the warm reception extended him since his arrival and acknowledged the longstanding relationship that has subsisted between Liberia and Namibia, dating back to the Tubman era.
Ambassador Josob, however, recounted Namibia’s positive role in the peacekeeping process during the Liberian civil crisis and assured his government’s commitment in fostering bilateral relations between the two countries.
