Monrovia — The Federation of Liberian Youth (FLY) has launched a new website and membership portal as part of efforts to modernize the organization, strengthen communication and expand the participation of youth organizations across Liberia.

The digital platforms, launched in Monrovia, are expected to provide young people and youth-led organizations with easier access to information about FLY’s leadership, programs, advocacy initiatives and activities at both the national and county levels.
Speaking at the launch, FLY President Duku Jallah said the initiative represents a significant step toward transforming the federation into a more accessible, transparent and digitally connected institution.
Jallah said the new website will serve as a central platform for disseminating information about FLY’s programs, leadership structure, county chapters and ongoing advocacy efforts.
Meanwhile, the membership portal will enable youth organizations to register and engage with the federation online.
According to him, the digital membership system is also intended to enhance FLY’s ability to identify, organize, and communicate with youth organizations nationwide.
“We want to make sure that young people and youth organizations can easily connect with FLY and have access to information about what we are doing,” Jallah stated.
He noted that the platform will not only focus on youth organizations within Liberia but will also help strengthen links between young Liberians at home and those in the diaspora.
Jallah said FLY intends to leverage the new membership system to build a broader network of young Liberians, creating opportunities for collaboration, knowledge-sharing, advocacy and development initiatives between youth at home and abroad.
At the same time, FLY has announced plans to conduct its county-level elections on September 26, with the leadership pledging to adopt a more inclusive and stakeholder-driven process aimed at preventing disputes that have marred some previous elections.
Jallah intimated that the federation is working with key stakeholders to develop an electoral process that promotes transparency, participation and peaceful resolution of disagreements.
He disclosed that representatives of the National Elections Commission (NEC), the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Ministry of Local Government and civil society organizations are participating in discussions and preparations for the elections.
According to Jallah, the involvement of the various stakeholders is intended to ensure that the county elections are conducted credibly and peacefully and that all participating youth organizations have confidence in the process.
“We are taking a stakeholder-led approach because we want to avoid the conflicts that have characterized our previous elections,” Jallah said.
He emphasized that the September 26 elections are expected to provide an opportunity for young people across Liberia to participate meaningfully in choosing leadership at the county level.
The FLY President also called on youth organizations to take advantage of the new membership portal and actively participate in the federation’s programs and electoral processes.
The Federation of Liberian Youth is an umbrella organization representing youth interests and youth organizations across Liberia.
Its activities include youth advocacy, leadership development, peacebuilding and engagement with government and development partners on issues affecting young people.
The launch of the digital platforms comes amid growing calls for youth organizations in Liberia to embrace technology, improve internal coordination and create more effective avenues for young people to participate in national development.
