Monrovia — Liberia first division outfit Borough Football Club has stepped up preparations for the 2026/27 national football season with a series of strategic signings, reinforcing its squad with a group of promising young Liberian talents.

Known affectionately as The Pride of the Borough, the club has been active in the transfer window, securing goalkeeper Armah Kiadii, attacking midfielders Lawrence Toby and Praise Sumo, wingers Daniel Tarplah and Julius Chea, and versatile forward Moham Nyanti.
The recruitment drive reflects Borough FC’s strategy of developing local talent while assembling a competitive squad for the upcoming campaign.
Kiadii Arrives After Toe’s Departure
One of the club’s primary changes comes in the goalkeeping department following the departure of former first-choice shot-stopper Emmanuel Toe to BlackMan Warrior FC.
To fill the void, Borough moved quickly to secure Liberia U-20 goalkeeper Armah Kiadii on loan from Third Division side Remi FC. Kiadii brings valuable top-flight experience, having previously featured for Invincible Eleven, Shaita FC, and SUSA FC.
“Armah brings a lot to this team. He is a young goalkeeper with good potential, and we believe this environment will give him the opportunity to develop,” said Head Coach Theophilus Befford.
Toby and Tarplah Bolster Local Core
Borough FC has also secured permanent deals for two products of the New Kru Town football community: Lawrence Toby and Daniel Tarplah.
Toby, an attacking midfielder signed from LIYOFA FC on a long-term contract, reunites with former teammate Tarplah, a teenage winger known for his pace and direct attacking style.
“Lawrence is a very talented young player with the qualities to become one of the best in the league,” Technical Director Francis Sarploh stated. “If he continues to work hard and stay focused, within two years we will be talking about one of the top players in the country.”
Borough FC President Sylvanus Kelvin Morris echoed those sentiments regarding Tarplah, emphasizing his strong ties to the community “Daniel represents everything Borough FC stands for. He is a talented young player from our own community with the desire, character, and ambition to succeed.”
Midfield and Attacking Depth
The club further added creativity to its engine room by signing attacking midfielder Praise Sumo from Renewal FC on a contract running through 2030.
Additionally, Borough finalized deals for Moham Nyanti and Julius Chea, both products of the club’s partnership with the ANSSA Academy.
Nyanti offers versatility across the front line, while Chea adds pace and flair on the wing.
With the 2026/27 campaign approaching, Borough FC’s management remains focused on blending local youth development with competitive performance on the pitch.
The club last season ended 10th place and will be hoping to improve on their previous performances from last season.
