Monrovia — Renowned Ghanaian-Liberian actor Van Vicker has officially thrown his weight behind Liberian football stakeholder Christian Weah Sr. ahead of the highly anticipated 2026 Liberia Football Association (LFA) elections.

Vicker is urging local stakeholders to rally behind what he describes as “proven leadership.”
Vicker, whose mother is Liberian, made the endorsement via his official Instagram account.
He called on members of the Liberian football community to support Weah’s bid for a seat on the LFA Executive Committee.
“Christian is not just a businessman; he is a proven leader,” Vicker stated.
He pointed to Weah’s entrepreneurial background as the driving force behind Cabana Hotel and Cabana Properties as evidence of his ability to create jobs, manage resources professionally, and deliver results.
Beyond his corporate success, Vicker highlighted Weah’s growing footprint in the domestic sports sector.
As the owner of Stages Queens FC, a club competing in the lower division of Liberia’s women’s league, Weah has demonstrated a clear commitment to grassroots development and the advancement of the women’s game.
The endorsement also drew attention to Weah’s administrative credentials. These include his tenure as the former Chairman of the Club Presidents Association of Liberia and his current position on the LFA League Board.
According to Vicker, the many roles have given Weah practical insight into the complexities of football governance in the country.
“What I respect most about Christian is his balanced approach,” Vicker added. “He supports the current leadership and believes in continuity, while also bringing fresh ideas and the energy needed to move Liberian football forward.”
Weah Responds to Endorsement
Responding to the celebrity backing, Christian Weah Sr. expressed his gratitude and voiced confidence in the final stretch of his campaign:
“I appreciate the endorsement from my brother Van Vicker. Let’s finish this strong. Change is coming, and together, we can make Liberian football great again.”
Weah is among more than 20 candidates competing for one of the 11 available seats on the LFA Executive Committee, setting the stage for a highly contested election.
Running on a platform centered on experience, integrity, and development, Weah’s campaign message remains focused on collective progress:
