A Lot of Similarities From Taylor Era Government

Elections are next year: fall in line or get out of their way. No more N troops so beware Liberian media.

The Editor,

This behaviour in the democratic government headed by President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf reminds me of a similar democratic government under President Charles Taylor. That is exactly how Taylor shut down Star Radio. And FrontPageAfrica was railroaded like that in 2013….and the courts didn’t help either, including the Supreme Court of Liberia.

Elections are next year: fall in line or get out of their way. No more UN troops so beware Liberian media. President Sirleaf during the UN troops security turnover ceremonies four days ago was trumpeting “press freedom” in Liberia. Just a thought and not a sermon.
