The 33-year-old goal machine, widely known in Malaysian football as “Super Sherman”, was officially unveiled by the capital-based club as their latest signing, joining a long list of reinforcements brought in to bolster their squad.
Sherman’s move comes after a prolific stint with Pahang FC, where he consistently delivered in front of goal. Over the last four seasons, Sherman has scored an impressive 76 goals across all competitions making him one of the league’s most feared forwards.
His switch to Kuala Lumpur is seen as a statement of intent from a club aiming to improve on last season’s sixth-place finish and mount a serious title challenge.
“Sherman brings goals, experience, and leadership. He’s the kind of player who can turn a good team into a great one,” a club official told Malaysian press.
Sherman joins a growing list of star players snapped up by KL in recent weeks, including Safawi Rasid, Manuel Hidalgo, and Syamer Kutty Abba from reigning champions Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT). The club also secured Azrif Nasrulhaq, Sherman’s former teammate at Pahang, along with Filipino international goalkeeper Quincy Kammerad.
New head coach Risto Vidakovic has wasted no time in reshaping the squad, with a mix of experience and youth. Among the new faces is 25-year-old Fazrul Amir, described by the club as “one of Malaysia’s most exciting young talents.”
For Sherman, the move represents not just a fresh challenge, but also another opportunity to fly Liberia’s flag high in Asian football. He remains one of the few Liberian players consistently performing at a high level abroad.
Kuala Lumpur will open their season this Saturday against Super League newcomers Immigration FC at the Penang State Stadium, just a day after the traditional Charity Shield match between JDT and Selangor.
Back home, Liberian football fans will be watching closely hoping that Super Sherman continues his red-hot form and adds another successful chapter to his already impressive career.
