27-Year-old Allegedly Rapes 42 Year-old Woman Death

Monrovia – The Liberia National Police (LNP) is investigating a 27-year-old man for allegedly raping a 42-year-old woman to death.

The woman, Korto Kollie, was found dead in a garage at the corner of Benson and Lynch Streets in Monrovia early Saturday morning.

The suspect, Belidi Barry, told Police investigators that the incident happened on last Friday night.

According to him, he got to know the deceased through her fiancé but has since been having regular affair with her.

He further told the investigators that he and the deceased willingly had sex in one of the cars in the garage and he immediately fell asleep after the intercourse.

He added that they both slept in the car that night.

According to Suspect Barry, when he woke up Saturday morning, he didn’t see her near him in the car and never saw her until he heard about her demise.

He, however, told Police investigators that when he woke up, she saw blood stains on him.

Meanwhile, Police Spokesman Sam Collins have disclosed that Barry is currently in custody and is expected to be forwarded to court as the prime suspect

He was arrested over the weekend along with eight others who are believed to workers in the garage where the victim was found.

The suspect, according to the Police, has taken full responsibility for his action, saying he committed the act alone.

The Police said other suspects in their custody will be released to their lawyers until they are needed by Police.
