Coach Alex Anderson, speaking to FrontPage Africa Sports desk after his side defeated Hassan FC 2-1, attributed his players’ failure to score more goals to the absence of some of his key players.
He stressed that Golden Dream FC’s two straight wins didn’t come as a surprise but were achieved through the physical and skillful ball control displayed by his players. However, he added that they need to improve on their finishing if they are to keep winning.
Coach Anderson said, “We are happy that we have won our first two games in the league, but my players need to improve on their finishing touches if we are to maintain our winning streak against our opponents and advance to the league playoff stage.”
Coach Ojuku S. Paye blamed his players’ failure to display the game tactics they learned from their training ground. He described their ball possession and finishing touches as untimely but promised to use a different game tactic in their next game.
“The ball my players displayed against their opponents on the field of play was not up to standard. Because of that, we lost 2-1, but we are going back to our drawing board so that they will be able to learn from our past mistakes and properly prepare for our other games,” he added.
