Monrovia – the Liberia Football Association (LFA) is nearing the completion of CAF D Coaching Courses in 4 counties including Bomi, Grand Gedeh, Maryland and Montserrado.
A total of 75 candidates have completed the training in Bomi, Grand Gedeh and Montserrado counties, pending a successful pass, while 25 candidates are entering day three of their training.
CAF Instructor Dae Arab Fofana was assigned in Grand Gedeh, lecturer Barrent Karr catered to candidates in Bomi, instructor Jasper Benfelix mentored coaches in Montserrado, while CAF Instructor Kaetu Smith is currently serving as facilitator in Maryland.
A total of 10 females were involved, a figure which LFA Coach Educator Kesselee Kanneh described as “impressive”.
“From the angle of the LFA, we want to have good players and to do so we must develop quality coaches, so we have been very engaged in the development of coaches which led us to decentralize the program.
“We’ve done all to encourage female participation and we were glad to have 10 females on the overall, which is very impressive from a total figure of 100,” Mr. Kanneh concluded.
The administration of the CAF D Coaching Course is a continuous effort of the LFA to improve the quality of players by growing more quality coaches throughout Liberia.
The program is scheduled to continue in other counties.
