Pro-Tempore Chie also used the occasion to thank President of China, Xi Jinping, and expressed hope that his recent election as Secretary General at the 20th National Congress of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China will boost his resolve to fully cooperate with Africa for a win-win for both the African and Chinese people. Pro-Tempore Chie also recounted the benefits of scholarships and equipment from China to the Liberian people during the tenure of the outgoing Ambassador.
Outgoing Chinese Ambassador Ren Yisheng expressed that he enjoyed working and living in Liberia with the President Pro-Tempore and members of the Liberian Senate, and praised the Liberian government for its cooperation and commitment to the One China Policy.
