President Boakai commended Muslims in Liberia for their continued support and prayer for the peace process of the country.
Speaking Wednesday, April 10, at the end of Ramadan when Muslim leaders offered prayers for him and the nation at the Executive Mansion Parlor, the Liberian Leader said the country is for all Liberians and the collective efforts of everyone are needed in moving forward.
“We thank Allah for bringing you through these tense thirty days; let’s come together because we are one country, one people, and one destiny,” President Boakai told Muslim leaders at the Special prayer event organized for him.
President Boakai congratulated Muslims for praying for Liberia and applauded them for being committed to their quest of pleading God’s mercy for their country during the entire fast month.
He said though it was a challenge for Muslims to fast, in the midst of the challenges faced, they were able to muster the courage and were committed to their prayers.
“We are glad that fast month has ended in peace,” President Boakai noted.
He also called for unity amongst Muslims so that together they can contribute to making Liberia a better place.
Earlier, Muslim leaders offered prayers for the President and the entire nation.
They beseeched God’s compassion to guide and bless President Boakai, as he drives the state of affairs of Liberia.
Also in their supplications, the Muslim Leaders asked God to protect the President from the menace of terrorism, pleading with God to give the President long life, and wisdom and to make him a reconciler, unifier as well as a forgiven leader.
For his part in a brief statement, the Standard Bearer of the All Liberia Coalition Party, Lusinee F.
Kamara touted President Boakai for allowing more Muslims to serve in his government.
“When people doubted our ability to make meaningful contributions to this government, you had confidence in us,” Mr. Tamara said.
He said as Muslims, they will support the President to ensure the success of the government.
The ALCOP Political Leader also informed the President that, unlike Liberia, other countries in the West African region are observing Ramadan as a National holiday.
Kamara maintained: “The burden of this country lies on you, but let Allah give you the strength to carry us through. We will all fight for the success of the country.”
