Chris was first diagnosed of a lung infection at the age of two, and at three years old, she underwent the operation at the Duside Hospital in Harbel, Margibi County. But since the operation, she has not recovered and her condition continues to deteriorate, Ms. Kumeh said in an interview with her reporter.
Ms. Kumeh, who is also a single mother said the child’s father abandoned her when she became pregnant and has never returned. She has single-handedly been caring for her ailing daughter all these years but she has reached to a point that she can no longer do it alone.
“Since the operation, she has not been well. The fluid is still leaking from her lung. To ease her pain, I sometimes buy pain tablet. I really want her to get good medication but I don’t have anyone to help me,” Kumeh said.
In a video, the child, who appears smaller than her age due the illness, can be seen with a wound leaking pulse.
