CAPITOL — Senator Verney Sherman, the chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee, has postponed confirmation proceedings due to protesting Senate staffers demanding additional sitting benefits.
Senator Sherman took this action in response to the roadblock set up by the staffers, preventing him from accessing the Senate wing of the Liberia Legislature.
As of now, the chairman and committee members have not announced a new date for the confirmation proceedings.
Senate staffers are protesting for extra sitting benefits, alleging that their bosses have not provided them with information about their benefits.
