Brewerville – The relief and development organization of the Apostolic Pentecostal Church International has begun the establishment of school awareness clubs to promote the fisheries and aquaculture sector amongst students in primary and secondary schools in Liberia. Church Aid Inc. (CAI), pilot initiative kicks off at the Mother Tegeste Stewart Apostolic Pentecostal School in Brewerville, Montserrado County and was consummated today with the election of the leaders from amongst members of the awareness club dubbed as the “Fisheries and Aquaculture Awareness Club” – (FAAC)

Monrovia – Fortress Praise International, a charity group, donated assorted books and reference materials Friday, June 16, 2023, to the Christ Foundation School on 12th Street in Monrovia, Liberia. Fortress Praise founder and executive directress, Fatu Kollie Zeon turned over the instructional and reference books that included history, literature, biology, geography, and chemistry amongst other subjects.

MONROVIA – Former President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf’s story and achievements continue to amaze many around the world. This time around, she was the recipient of an Honorary Doctor of Laws Degree from the prestigious McMaster University in Hamilton, Canada on June 12, 2023, which ranks among the top 100 universities in the world. President Sirleaf also delivered the convocation address to graduates from McMaster’s Faculty of Humanities as well as Arts and Science Program during their convocation held at FirstOntario Concert Hall where she admonished hundreds of graduates, “use your talent to make the world a better place.”

MONROVIA – The Government of the Republic of Liberia and the European Union (EU) will meet on 22 June for the Eleventh (11th) edition of the EU-Liberia Partnership Dialogue, formerly known as Political Dialogue. Monrovia – The Managing Director of the Liberia Medicines and Health Products Regulatory Authority (LMHRA), Dr. Keturah C. Smith-Chineh, has disclosed that the Authority has declared “FAIL” about 256 cartons of “Paracetamol Oral Suspension125mg/5ml known as Para Clear Suspension, with batch number L220008.” These 256 cartons were quarantined last year, after a failed physical inspection at Quality Control Lab since October 2022.

On June 16 2023, Liberian Children joined their counterparts on the continent to commemorate the 32nd anniversary of the Day of the African Child. The day is celebrated every year to honor children who participated in the Soweto Uprising on June 16 1976. The day that was first initiated by the Organization of African Unity (OAU) is also used to raise awareness on the need for better education for African children.
