Monrovia – The Solidarity Center, funded by the US Department of Labor, successfully concluded a one-day Integration Coalitions and Workshop with stakeholders in Monrovia. The project, titled “Elevating Women’s Participation in the Workplace in West Africa,” is a five-year initiative implemented by the Solidarity Center in Liberia and Nigeria. In Liberia, key stakeholders include unions, government agencies, and civil society organizations. The project’s focus sectors encompass the oil and gas industries in Nigeria and the mining, rubber, and oil palm sectors in Liberia.

GBARNGA – The Office of the High Commission for Human Rights and its partners have begun the training of over 40 top security officers including regional and county commanders of the Liberia National Police, the Liberia Immigration Service, Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency and the Liberia National Fire Service on election security management ahead of the October 10 election.

Monrovia – The Liberia Revenue Authority (LRA) has successful held its first Business Climate Dialogue in Monrovia, bringing together representatives from the private sector and government agencies. The primary objective of dialogue is to facilitate positive exchanges and develop realistic solutions to boost revenue generation.

MONROVIA – A one-day National Steering Committee meeting which aimed at critically reviewing the level of progress on the management and protection of Liberia’s mangrove forest including lake Piso has ended  in Monrovia on August 9, 2023 with the NSC making a number of recommendations on how best to promote the project, named and styled,” sustainable management of mangrove forest from Senegal to Benin. 

Monrovia – The Liberian Swedish Scholars Network (SIANL) will hold its fourth Inspirational Day event on Saturday, August 12 in Monrovia. The purpose of this event is to celebrate both the scholars who are returning from studying in Sweden and those who are departing to study there. The event will be hosted at the residence of the Swedish Ambassador accredited to Liberia, H.E. Urban Sjostrom.

MONROVIA – Montserrado County District #16 Representative Candidate Franklin Sarkoh II has stressed the need for the political leader of the ruling Coalition for Democratic Change, George Weah, to be given a second chance to lead his people. According to the hopeful representative, the tangible work done by the Liberian leader for his people over the period is a compelling reason why he should be re-elected.
