London, United Kingdom – For successfully chairing the 78th session of the Marine Environmental Protection Committee, the Secretary-General of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) has heaped praises on Mr. Harry T. Conway, Alternate Permanent Representative of Liberia to the International Maritime Organization (IMO) in London.

Monrovia – The Chair of the recently constituted EPA Board, Mr. Rupel E. Marshall, Sr. has reiterated the Government of Liberia’s commitment to ensure that at least 30% of Liberia’s forests are protected.

BUCHANAN, Grand Bassa – In less than a year, ArcelorMittal Liberia has paid more than half a million United States Dollars in resettlement compensation to owners of farmlands close to its iron ore mines in Yekepa, Nimba County.

MONROVIA – Eighteen promising Liberians, selected to participate in the 2022 Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders, departed for the United States on Tuesday, June 7.  Ambassador Michael A. McCarthy met with the Fellows during a pre-departure orientation and expressed his support and excitement for the program. “From business and civic leaders to those serving the public, each of you has a plan and the commitment to working towards a brighter future for Liberia. And we are so proud to be able to support your efforts,” Ambassador McCarthy remarked during the orientation.

Monrovia – The Liberia Medicines & Health Products Regulations Authority (LMHRA) in collaboration with the United States Pharmacopeia, through the Promoting of Quality Medicines Plus (USP PQM+), has promulgated seven new regulations that seek to guide the pharmaceutical sector of Liberia.

MONROVIA –A Liberian family based in the United States of America has inspired students at the Baptist-Run RICKS Institute to take advantage of the STEM program that will shortly be introduced at the Institution in Virginia, outside Monrovia.

Smith-Chineh (Mrs.), recently attended the 11th West Africa Medicines Regulatory Harmonization (WA-MRH) Initiative Steering Committee Meeting; where several issues about the regulatory harmonization of medicines were discussed.
