MONROVIA – As Liberia continues to join rest of the world to combat the deadly coronavirus and strives to strengthen the educational sector, political parties have joined the struggle in bringing relief to the country.

MONROVIA – The Liberia Office of the Foundation for Human Rights Defense International (FOHRD) is calling on the Liberian government to establish a commission to exclusively handle everything that has to do with rape matters, including prosecution and catering to victims.

Monrovia – Senator, Abraham Darius Dillon (Liberty Party, Montserrado County) has frowned on the Collaborating Political Parties (CPP) members for tearing each other apart.

MONROVIA – The Liberia Women Forum (LWF), a women advocacy group in Monrovia has welcomed the President’s decision to declare rape as national emergency.

Monrovia – Bong County Senatorial aspirant Menipakei Dumoe says he is currently seeking an audience with the Sierra Leonean Embassy in Monrovia as he continues his request and appeal for the release of former Liberian President Charles Taylor.

Monrovia – ANC-USA through an auxiliary group of ANC Liberia called the National Cyber Defense (NCD) of the Alternative National Congress has donated two Hundred and twenty bags of 25kg rice to be distributed amongst underprivileged Liberians in Grand Cape Mount, Margibi & Montserrado Counties respectively. The distribution is meant to affect people of Disability, Orphanages, older people & other needed folks in selected areas in the counties mentioned above.

Monrovia – Diada Moses, a taxi driver in Monrovia is still unsure why the Ministry of Transport is carrying out vehicles’ inspection in the wake of the deadly Coronavirus pandemic.

MONROVIA – The peaceful protest against the alarming increase of reported rape cases in Liberia was going peaceful in the capital until some men believed to be associates of the Monrovia City Mayor, Jefferson Koijee, allegedly disrupted the protest after forcing their way through a blockade set up by the protestors in front of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs which currently hosts the offices of President George Weah.

Monrovia – As part of efforts to fight the coronavirus pandemic in Liberia, the Open Society Initiative of West Africa, (OSIWA) has donated US$50,000 as its contribution to the National Response Coordinator for the Executive Committee on COVID-19.  

Monrovia – In its effort to clean ministries and agencies payrolls, the Internal Audit Agency of Liberia (IAA) has concluded the final phase of the payroll verification exercise covering the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Justice sector inclusive of the Liberia National Police (LNP), Liberia Immigration Service (LIS), Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA) and the Liberia National Fire Service (LNFS).
