Ireland who recently obtained their WACP fellowship in internal medicine by examination.

It’s no secret that elections provide the bedrock needed for the sustenance of any democracy, that’s why I have argued repeatedly, that no matter what you take away from democracy, if you do not take away free, fair, and transparent elections, democracy will use same to repair itself.

MONROVIA – A youth development organization, Youth Crime Watch of Liberia has conducted a week long awareness on Birth Registration, violence against children, sexual gender base violence and Sexual Exploitation and Abuse in two Counties in Liberia, affecting Six (6) different Project locations.

An independently conducted poll shows that 88% of Liberians are not in favor of the new Liberia Telecommunications Authority (LTA) order to impose additional surcharge on telecommunications consumers while another 68% say they are not aware of or are confused by the surcharge.    The poll results come in the wake of Liberian GSM companies’ announcement that they would add on a surcharge of US$0.008 for each minute of on-net voice calls and US$0.00065 for each megabyte of data as imposed by the LTA.

In February, 2019 the Liberian Telecommunications Authority (LTA) issued LTA Order: 0016-02-25-19, which imposed surcharges of US$0.008 for each minute of on-net voice calls and US$0.00065 for each megabyte of data. Both Lonestar MTN and Orange Liberia Inc. challenged this LTA Order for many reasons, among which was that the surcharge was a tax and only the Legislature has the power to impose tax.

MONROVIA – The Liberia Medicines & Health Products Regulatory Authority (LMHRA) and several stakeholders of the LMHRA held a one-day meeting aimed at brainstorming on strategy and galvanizing resources to build an Internationally Certified Quality Control Laboratory (QCL) to ensure the general public has access to safe, effective and quality medicines.
