Reports of Representatives Fahnbulleh and Kolleh crossing over to Rep. Koon have been lingering over the last 48 hours, though the two lawmakers have not made official statements.
In an FPA inquiry, Rep. Eugine Kollie made it emphatic that he remains committed and supportive of every process leading to the election of Rep. Koffa as the next Speaker of the House of Representatives.
Kollie, who refused to comment on the reported departure of his colleagues, only stated that he believes Rep. Koffa is preferable for the Speakership, considering his worth of experience in legislative politics.
He told FPA that the ascendency of Rep. Koffa to the helm of the House’s leadership would restore the dignity, credibility, and independence of the Lower House to avoid a repeat of the 54th where the ruling establishment had all positions to their credit.
Commenting on qualification, the Bong County District #5 Lawmaker noted that Koffa has every needed qualification to lead the 55th legislature.
He believes under Koffa’s Speakership, the interest of the Liberian people will be at the fore of every piece of legislative instrument brought before that august body.
Kollie said Koffa’s experience from the deputy speaker position is also an added advantage that the house can pounce on to address the pressing needs of the Liberian people.
He is at the same time encouraging fellow members of the House to join “Team Koffa”, a group of lawmakers in support of Rep. Koffa’s Speaker bid to “clean the mess and make the legislature better again”.
Rep. Kollie, who is the Chair on Mobilization for the speakership of Rep Koffa, has meanwhile vowed to stand at the forefront of the campaign of Rep. Koffa until the battle is finally won.
In another development, Rep. Kollie is calling on the management of the Kpatawee waterfall for an immediate future discussion to turn over the fall to the Citizens of the Kpatawee Clan until a credible discussion is reached between the management and the Citizens Citizens.
Rep Kollie, who is serving on the Salala disaster management committee team as head of the media, recently identified with the victim’s family with 50 bags of rice and a lot more, is also appreciating President Weah for the one week of mourning to the fire victims and the peo0le.of Bong County.
It can be recalled that the people of Bong witnessed one of the worst disasters in many years when a fuel (Gas) tanker carrying 9000 gallons of fuel exploded and claimed the lives of over 70 persons in Bong County.
