Monrovia – President George Weah’s impactful contributions to peace and sports locally and internationally have again paid off as he has won the Peace and Sport Awards.
The ceremony, held in Monaco France on Wednesday, November 30, was attended by scores of Global icons and international leaders who showered praises on the Liberian leader for his role played in bringing peace to his country.

Cataloguing his invaluable sacrifices to peace in Liberia and beyond, the global peace and sports icon said the former World Player of the Year is always excited to work and represent his people.
Peace, he emphasized, is key and as such everyone needs it to survive.
According to him, when you dedicate your life for people, the results will always count.
President Weah, who dedicated the awards to the people of Liberia for helping to bring peace to their Country also hailed young children who were then child soldiers but later listen to him to now bring lasting peace to their Mother Land.
“I remember working for the UNICEF as Peace Ambassador and most often when we go on the battlefield, we saw young children with guns, it then makes me sad but today, the story is different and the symbol now is remarkable “, he told the gathering.
Meanwhile, the Liberian leader received the global Peace and Sport awards alongside other global leaders, who also worked hard to bring peace through sports in their respective countries.
