Kakata, Margibi County – Speaker James Emmanuel Nuquay and vice standard bearer of the governing Unity Party (UP) has called on citizens of Margibi County to support the Boakai-Nuquay ticket, terming his selection as the surest opportunity for Margibi County to produce for the first time a vice President of Liberia.
The Unity Party vice standard bearer said as he remains forever grateful to Vice President Joseph N. Boakai for his preferment, it was now the obligation of all margibians to ensure that the county produce the country next vice President through their efforts of massively casting their votes for the Boakai-Nuquay ticket at the October 10 polls.
Speaking on Saturday evening, September 30, 2017 at the Nancy B. Doe Sports Stadium in Kakata before thousands of Margbians and supporters of the Unity Party who thronged the stadium in the early hours of the day for the official launch of the party’s campaign activities in Margibi County, Speaker Nuquay noted that as the National Elections Commission (NEC) voter registration statistics placed Margibi County to 5th place position among the counties with the highest number of voter registrants, adding that his selection by Amb. Boakai has given the people of the county the unique opportunity to consolidate such position and navigate their involvement in the body politics of the country.
“The fact that I am on this ticket, you have the opportunity to produce our country next vice President; as a county this is your campaign and your fight,” Speaker Nuquay asserted.
In a bid to garner the supports of all the citizens of Margibi County towards the Boakai-Nuquay ticket, Speaker Nuquay promised to protect the interest of the people of Margibi County and Liberia at large, vowing never to abandon them.
Speaker Nuquay said: “our ticket is your political home, it is the ticket that has your face, and it’s an election for you as people of Margibi County to make history”.
He at the same time promised the people of Liberia that the Boakai-Nuquay lead government will ensure that the peace of Liberia is sustained, better the country future, bring the development that have long been yield for and moreover, continue on the foundation of the previous government.
“It is easy for us to provide you electricity, good health delivery, build roads as you may have heard from my Presidential candidate saying road, road, and road. We will provide you better road network so that you bring your produces to the market,” Speaker Nuquay promised the cheering audience amidst applause.
Additionally, Speaker Nuquay pledged the Boakai-Nuquay ticket unflinching commitment to have the inclusion of the young people of Liberia in the governance of the country, especially the ones who are prepared.
He boasted that there is no ticket that have demonstrated the strongest commitment to the young people of Liberia than the Boakai-Nuquay ticket evident by his (James Emmanuel Nuquay) selection as vice running mate.
