Sheba Browne Assumes Office At LACC As A Commissioner

Monrovia – Following her recent appointment by President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, D. Sheba Brown on March 1, 2017, assumed office as a Commissioner at the Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC).

Speaking at a ceremony when she took over from out-going Commissioner, Counselor M. Osman Kanneh, Commissioner Browne assured Liberians that she would uphold and defend the integrity and principles of the LACC in fighting corruption.

She also stressed the need for the establishment of a Fast-Track Court on Corruption and the enactment of a Whistleblower and Witness Protection Law.                                                                                                                         

Also speaking at the turning-over ceremony, Out-going Commissioner, Counselor Kanneh thanked the President and people of Liberia for affording him the opportunity to serve at the LACC.

He promised to make his services available whenever needed.

Speaking earlier, LACC Executive Chairperson, Counselor James N. Verdier, Jr. praised outgoing Commissioner Kanneh for the high level of professionalism and dedication he demonstrated during his tenure at the Commission.

The LACC boss also expressed confidence in the integrity of Commissioner Browne and wished her well in her new assignment.

The ceremony was witnessed by the Vice Chairperson, Commissioners and staff of the LACC as well as friends and family members of the incoming Commissioner.
