Monrovia – Former national team football Coach Vava George is calling for urgent medical assistance to save his life.

The veteran Liberian Lone Star Coach and a former national team player, is currently suffering from severe cold, irregular breathing, lost of appetite, among others, according to his son, Dominic George.
Dominic further said his father has been sick for about four month now.
He told our reporter that an initial intervention from his Parish, Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church also known as the St Mary, was made to treat him. However, he added that the condition of his father is worsening by the day.
At the moment, the former national team head coach (Vava George) barely eats and walks properly due to his swollen legs among other health conditions.
Sadly Dominic narrated that if noting is done urgently he might lose his father.
Coach George was one time head coach of the senior national team of Liberia during the famous “George Weah Eleven.” It was the time President George Weah was then Technical Director of the Lone Star.
Coach George qualified Liberia to the 2002 Nation’s cup in Mali.
According to Dominic, they have made some efforts in reaching to the Liberian leader for assistance but they have not been fortunate to get in director contact with President Weah.
“I am of the conviction that the communication or the information has not reached him (President Weah) now. If it does get to him, he will surely respond,” added Vava’s son.
He said they have chosen to use the media now because time is not in their favor as he believes the media can make such information reach the President speedily. He also stated that through the media, other well-meaning humanitarians can help intervene to help save his father’s life.
Coach George has been a role model to many Liberian players and coaches.
He is known for his tactical approach to the game, a disciplinary and a principle-minded individual.
He served as former head coach of Mighty Barrolle, Garnersville FC, 24th Street, Sinkor-based Gedi and Sons FC, Monrovia Club Breweries and many others.
