Monrovia – The head of the globally acclaimed Philanthropist and Charitable Organization based in the UK, THE AKHIRAH TEAM, Mr. Aihtsham Rashid along with another delegate will visit Liberia to assess the possibility of providing assistance to some of the most needed communities in the Country.
Mr. Aihtsham Rashid, who is the Chairman of the Akhirah Team, will be in Liberia as a guest of another hard working Charitable Organization in the Country, VISION FOR LIBERIA.
The two charity groups will together, from April 12th to the 18th, assess the needs of over 20 needed facilities including orphanages, Schools, Mosques and Clinics in six of Liberia’s 15 Counties.
During Mr. Rashid’s team visit to Liberia, they will access Orphanages, vulnerable Schools and Clinics in Montserrrado, Margibi, Bong, Bomi, Grand Cape Mount and Grand Bassa Counties.
Most of the facilities that will be visited are already being attended to by Vision for Liberia, the Country partner for The Akhirah Team.
While in Liberia, Mr. Rashid and The Akhirah Team delegation will meet with key Country stakeholders which will include; The Ministers of Gender and Health and Educational stakeholders in those Counties.
Mr. Aihtsham Rashid said his reasons for taking an interest in working with vulnerable Children and families in Liberia is inspired by the legacy of Liberia’s President H. E. George.
The Team has implemented projects in The Gambia, Indonesia, Bangladesh, and has even helped to provide basic social services and food to the Homeless in the United Kingdom (UK).
Mr. Rashid, in a dispatch aired on the BBC, has made it very clear that they are coming to Liberia to find a way of undertaking life-impacting projects that would provide help to meet the basic needs for the most vulnerable members of the population such as Orphans.
There will also be a feeding program for each of the visiting centers. This will, however, be of assistance to Vision for Liberia and the vulnerable populations that VFL works with.
Approximately 100,000 children in Liberia are orphans and many less fortunate children who live in rural communities and go to local schools.
Most of the vulnerability exists due to the 14 years of civil crisis and the emergence of the world’s deadliest disease outbreak – the Ebola virus, which resulted in the deaths of many adults and left many children as orphans.
